Installing a belt clamp October 20, 2008

trackback

First I sanded the edged off the grooves to reduce the risk of cutting into the belt. I also drilled out the holes for 1/4″ bolts after using the clamp as a template to drill the other mounting holes.

Then I assembled a clamp.

Mounting holes are drilled and tapped fro 1/4″.

Add the grooved plate

Align the belt in the grooves and to the bearings (roughly)

Add the clamping plate (Yes I DO make up these names as I go!)

Tighten the bolts evenly. Final alignment and tensioning comes later.

Only 5 more to install
